Heather Cassidy
The Founder and Director of The Cassidy Academy of Music, Heather Cassidy, is an Irish violinist & violin teacher based in Dublin. Heather is also a qualified secondary school teacher with a degree in English and Childhood Sociology.
Heather began studying violin at the age of six and at eleven moved to the Royal Irish Academy of Music. While at the Academy Heather was awarded a violin scholarship each year. Heather is a multiple Feis Ceoil winner for solo performance, duets and chamber music. Heather has played with many orchestras such as The Royal Irish Academy of Music orchestra and The Royal Irish Academy chamber orchestra, Dublin Youth Symphony Orchestra, The Hibernian Orchestra and The National Youth Orchestra of Ireland.
Heather is the leader of The Kurdanza String Quartet. The Kurdanza Quartet have performed at many venues around Ireland and Europe. Their most notable performance being in a concert hall in Padua, Italy were they performed as part of a wider tour. They continue to perform frequently around Ireland. As a student Heather attended many chamber music courses such Aravon and Concorda and is now a chamber music tutor at Aravon chamber music summer school.
Since finishing in the Academy Heather has taught both privately and in music schools in Dublin and Kilkenny. Heather currently teaches violin lessons and pre-instrumental music lessons at The Cassidy Academy of Music. Heather is a much sought after, experienced violin teacher in Dublin. Heather is passionate about music. Her aim is to nurture the same love of music in her students.
